BDA Therapy: Your Progress – Teodora from Belgrade

We bring you progress with the BDA therapies of little Teodora from Belgrade. Her mother explained what had improved in Teodora’s development.

The first thing we noticed was her thorax, which expanded significantly, gained some volume, and it was noticeable after about a month of regular exercise.

Moreover, her stability improved, her balance was better, and I think her reactions were somewhat quicker as well. When falling down (from a sitting stance), she would put her arm down, quicker than before at that.

After three and a half months of regular exercise (from which we should deduct about three weeks when she was ill), we noticed that she was increasingly able to elevate on all fours from a prone position. One day, I found her sitting on her own, on her legs. It is the greatest progress she has made so far. Of course, she managed it on his own, without being instructed or persuaded by anybody. I want to point out that her progress is simply a logical and natural consequence of increasing strength of her body. I have a feeling that she already had everything figured out in her head, that she knew what she had to do, but she was simply unable to do it without the proper „tools“ (her own body, that is).

Thereafter, she practiced that type of sitting on her own, without supporting her body by her arms. Her arms were increasingly free and she could use them to play in this stance.

I have to point out that we are not implementing any other methods with Teodora at the moment – simply because we do not have time for it – and I now think that nothing else is even necessary.

At the moment, it appears to me that she wants to make an attempt at crawling, because she started swinging back and forth, only while on her bed (in a safe environment), and she started moving her legs twice in this stance.

I noticed that she is increasingly interested in her surroundings, she wants to learn, listen to what we’re saying to her, and she started to pronounce an increased range of syllables.

Her left hand is more agile as well, and I think she is slowly starting to use it more, as much as it is possible at the moment.
